SS 347 (UNS S34700) achieves the same carbide-stabilization goal as 321 but using niobium (columbium) instead of titanium, added at roughly 10x the carbon content up to 1.00% max. Niobium carbides are somewhat more stable at higher temperatures than titanium carbides and niobium doesn't oxidize as readily during welding.

SS 347H (UNS S34709) combines 347's niobium stabilization with a controlled higher carbon window (0.04-0.10%, versus 0.08% max for standard 347), following the same "H-grade" logic used for 304H - extra carbon in solid solution improves creep and stress-rupture strength at elevated temperature.

SS 904L (UNS N08904) is a "super-austenitic" grade that pushes nickel to 23-28% and adds both molybdenum (4-5%) and copper (1-2%), a combination specifically chosen to resist sulfuric acid across a wide range of concentrations and temperatures.

254 SMO (UNS S31254), universally known in the industry as "6Mo" for its approximately 6% molybdenum content, combines high chromium (~20%), high nickel (~18%), heavy molybdenum, and a nitrogen addition (0.18-0.22%) that further boosts pitting resistance beyond what molybdenum alone would provide.

253 MA (UNS S30815) is a heat-resistant austenitic grade engineered around a small but carefully controlled cerium addition (a rare-earth element, typically 0.03-0.08%) combined with elevated silicon and nitrogen. The cerium addition dramatically improves the adherence of the protective oxide scale to the base metal, meaning the scale resists spalling even under repeated thermal cycling up to 1150°C.

Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205/S31803) derives its name and properties from a microstructure that is roughly 50% austenite and 50% ferrite, achieved through a carefully balanced composition of chromium (22-23%), nickel (4.5-6.5%), molybdenum, and nitrogen. This dual-phase structure delivers roughly double the yield strength of standard austenitic grades like 316L.

Duplex 2304 (UNS S32304) is often described as a "lean duplex" because it omits the deliberate molybdenum addition found in 2205 while keeping nickel content lower as well, reducing raw material cost significantly while retaining double 316L's yield strength.

Lean Duplex 2101 (UNS S32101) takes cost reduction even further than 2304 by substituting expensive nickel with manganese and nitrogen - its nickel content sits around just 1.35-1.7%, a fraction of what standard duplex or austenitic grades require.

Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) raises the alloying content well beyond standard 2205 - chromium to 24-26%, nickel to 6-8%, molybdenum to 3-5%, and nitrogen to 0.24-0.32% - pushing its PREN above 40.

Super Duplex S32760 (marketed originally as Zeron 100) shares the same high-chromium, high-nitrogen super duplex foundation as 2507, but adds small, deliberate tungsten (0.5-1.0%) and copper (0.5-1.0%) additions to its alloy design for enhanced performance in specific aggressive media.

Hyper Duplex S32707 sits at the very top of the commercially available duplex family, with chromium pushed to roughly 26-29%, molybdenum to 4-5%, and nitrogen to 0.30-0.40% - alloying levels that place its PREN comfortably above 49, exceeding even standard super duplex grades like 2507 and S32760.

17-4 PH (UNS S17400 / Grade 630) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel containing ~17% chromium, 4% nickel, and 4% copper with niobium additions.
