Rajahmundry sits on the Godavari, just above the head of its delta, and it is the main industrial city of the East Godavari region after Kakinada. Paper-making is one of its oldest industries: the area has two mills of a large integrated pulp and paper company, at Rajahmundry and nearby Kadiyam, with a combined capacity of around 241,000 tonnes a year, and other paper units operate in the city. The delta's agriculture feeds a large agro-processing sector, with rice milling, coconut and palm-oil units, and fruit processing around mango and banana, since the district is among the country's leading producers of coconut and banana. The discovery of gas in the nearby KG Basin has also drawn energy-related ancillary industry to the area, and small units make textiles, fabricated metal and plastics.

A word on fit. Rice milling is dry, and pulp-making and paper-making are heavy chemical and mechanical processes whose main lines use carbon steel and specialty alloy. Where we're useful is the wet food and oil lines, fruit and banana processing, DM-water and clean utilities inside the mills and gas facilities, and the fabricators who serve them.

• We'll say plainly where electropolished pipe isn't the answer. Pulp, bleach and caustic-liquor lines in paper mills, and process-gas lines, use other materials. Our pipe is for the clean side. Send us the line, the media and the temperature and we'll say honestly whether it fits, or whether a plain stainless or alloy tube is the better and cheaper choice. Avoid hydrofluoric acid and abrasive slurries.
• Oil refining has a clean side and a solvent side. Solvent-extraction and hexane lines aren't a fit. Refined-oil, condensate, wash-water and clean-utility lines can be. Send us the line and media and we'll say honestly which it is.
• Fruit pulp and banana are acidic. Chlorides plus acid attack 304 by pitting, so 316L is usually the safer grade for pulp lines, and 304L suits steam, wash water and dry-side lines. Tell us your product and CIP chemistry and we'll confirm the grade. Our internal Ra of 0.4 µm or better sits well inside the usual food band of 0.8 µm.
• Rice mills aren't the target. Rice milling is dry. We'd rather tell you than sell you something you don't need.
• Large mills buy formally. Major plants generally purchase through tenders, approved-vendor lists and registered contractors. If yours does, send us the tender specification and we'll respond with a technical and commercial offer and the document pack.
• Plan around shutdowns. Mill and plant maintenance windows are fixed. If you tell us the date when you enquire, we'll plan manufacture and dispatch against it, and we'll say plainly if the lead time doesn't fit.
• For a few plain lengths, a local dealer will usually be cheaper. We're the better choice when you need a measured Ra, heat-number traceability, a particular size or finish, or the full document pack.
• Send the whole requirement at once. Consolidated orders spread freight better. If you also buy for Kakinada, Vijayawada or Anakapalle, send the requirements together and we'll quote one consolidated dispatch with one document format.
• Protect the finish. Humid delta air can mark an electropolished surface in storage. We cap the ends and sleeve every length, and we recommend keeping the sleeves on until installation.
