Lean Duplex 2101 (UNS S32101 / EN 1.4162 / LDX 2101) is an ultra-economical dual-phase stainless steel seamless pipe engineered to minimize nickel dependency by substituting costly nickel with manganese (4.0%-6.0%) and nitrogen (0.20%-0.25%). Its nickel content is reduced to just 1.35%-1.7% (compared to 8% in 304 and 10% in 316L), providing exceptional protection against global nickel market price volatility. Despite its low nickel content, Lean Duplex 2101 maintains a balanced austenite-ferrite structure with a yield strength (≥450 MPa) more than double that of 304 and 316L. Its general corrosion resistance tracks standard 304/316 in many neutral water and chemical environments. Sakshi Forge manufactures Lean Duplex 2101 seamless pipes via hot extrusion and cold drawing, followed by solution annealing. It is an ideal solution for water treatment piping, storage tanks, structural hollow sections, and transport tanker piping.
