Product Profile

17-4 PH (UNS S17400 / AISI Grade 630 / EN 1.4542) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel seamless pipe engineered for applications requiring an exceptional combination of ultra-high mechanical strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance comparable to standard 304 stainless steel. Its composition features 15.0%-17.5% Chromium, 3.0%-5.0% Nickel, 3.0%-5.0% Copper, and a niobium/tantalum addition (0.15%-0.45%). Through a simple low-temperature heat treatment process (precipitation hardening / aging from H900 to H1150), 17-4 PH develops tensile strengths up to 1310 MPa (190 ksi) and yield strengths up to 1170 MPa (170 ksi) while maintaining high fracture toughness and resistance to scaling up to 315°C (600°F). Sakshi Forge manufactures 17-4 PH seamless pipes via hot extrusion and cold drawing, supplied in Solution Annealed Condition A (ready for customer heat treatment) or pre-aged condition (H900, H1025, H1150, H1150M). It is widely specified for aerospace hydraulic lines, defense structural tubing, nuclear control rod tubes, and high-pressure pump shafts.
