Ponda, in central Goa, is home to the Kundaim and Bethora industrial estates. In a multi-client formulation plant, the lines that carry product - granulation binder, coating suspension, liquid-oral transfer - and the CIP circuits that clean them are the ones worth specifying in electropolished 316L. A smooth, passive bore releases residue more readily, so cleaning cycles are shorter and validation data more consistent from product to product.
The purified-water system that supplies these lines is usually built in 316L, with SF1 tube adequate for an ambient loop and SF4 electropolished tube for hot-sanitised sections and critical points of use. Because several clients' auditors review the same system, consistent documentation matters: an EN 10204 3.1 certificate for every heat, PMI records for every length, and an Ra report for every electropolished lot.
Engineering and Food Units in Ponda
Ponda's engineering units fabricate equipment and skids, some of it for pharma and food customers; they need tube supplied to drawing with certificates they can pass on. Food units follow food-grade practice - 304 for most product lines, 316L for salty or acidic products - with electropolishing reserved for lines cleaned between every batch.

- Ambient purified-water loop, oral solids only: SF1 is usually defensible.
- Hot-sanitised purified water, or loops feeding liquid orals: SF4 recommended.
- WFI and clean steam (any sterile or ophthalmic work): SF4 electropolished as standard.
- Product transfer and CIP in multi-product plants: SF4 shortens cleaning and helps validation.
- Utilities (chilled water, compressed air, non-contact water): no hygienic finish needed.
